Hello, My name is Anna Singer born and raised in the Boston area, 20 years old attending American University. I have always been an artistic person, a visual learner. I connect everything I learn, do, or create into a visual form. I practically think in art. This has been an outlet for me, or a way to express myself in ways that are not so systematic or straight forward. I love to challenge myself, which is part of the reason why I am so drawn and intruiged by art, because nothing is handed to you, every interpretation, or conversation, or concept has to being worked for and thought about. Art challenges your mind and your soul, which is why it is so important. Art gives depth and a voice to my being. This depth allows me to connect to things, people, or ideas in ways that other people may not be able to do or understand.
One of my main motivations of my art is the "shock value", I got tired of art being called pretty, or being realistic. I don't want people to look at my art on a basic level and think nothing of it, I want my art to stick with people and leave an impact, and not just fill up space. Art for me is not about what people see, or even what I see. Art to me is about the difference it will make, the reaction, and the concept of it. Most of the work from here is from my AP Portfolio that I completed in 2017, however I will be adding other works from earlier this year that was not included in my portfolio, and future pieces. |
